Depends on how much credibility you want to give to "idea people" LOL. I finally found one of the sources (?) of these rumors and they're basically looking at new IP proposals or hiring posts, but the majority of these companies are targeting joseimuke games, which can be anything really.

If I remember correctly, Tencent and Zulong have hiring posts for a 3D joseimuke IP that will use Unreal Engine 5, which makes me skeptical that it's for an otome game (because you don't need something that crazy LOL) and they might be challenging Infinity Nikki instead or something.

Only IGG had some kind of hiring post directly stating they wanted to develop an otome IP and named Love and Deepspace as their benchmark. However, that's just a hiring post without any proposals or a team established.

If these games go into development now (and I think only Zulong has a joseimuke game that is starting development in 2026), then we might see an announcement PV in like 2027 and then an actual game release in 2029 or 2030.

Frankly, I'm not interested in any "rumors" until I see an actual announcement PV, because so many proposals die at the idea stage. Plus, even when an announcement PV comes out, they still have to run the gauntlet of development hell (looking at Last Crew) and many projects get cancelled at this stage too.

So, all in all, the only credible thing right now is Eve, the AI companionship boyfriend, which I took a closer look at and it's basically a souped up ChatGPT explicitly focused on romance and will seemingly offer minimal gameplay like the ability to go into the AI boyfriend's world to interact with him, decorate the house, plant things, and raise pets together. Meanwhile, outside in the real world, he chats with you through your phone and spies on your app activity.

So there’s more rumors going around now how Mihoyo, Kuro, Zulong, IGG are trying to develop 3d otome games. How credible are these rumors?
