Ough, don't put me in this position because I don't like either one LOL. Unfortunately, in your example, one is enforced by the game itself while the other is "enforced" by the players, which is a big difference.

Even more unfortunately, if I had to say something, I think Tears of Themis did it worse because the team made a conscious decision to make everyone's relationship equal in pacing up to certain milestones, and yet they don't account for individual differences in a relationship and so some characters suffer more than others (RIP Mo Yi, it's always him taking the brunt of this).

In Love and Deepspace's case, I don't see equal pacing just equal themes and that's because their themes are restricted by their technology. For example, why were all the men cat butlers? Because they could not spend any more time rigging different animal ears and tails, so everyone had to be a cat. Why are all the men "dancing idols"? Likely because they spent an enormous amount of time modeling and rigging dance moves, so of course they're going to use it on everyone. It would be such a waste of technology if only 1 man danced and the other 4 stood around in different roles, but they also do not have the time to model and rig anything else. At this point, maybe we can think of Love and Deepspace as a tech demo HAHA.

I'm seeing a few LaDs players saying that against Themis to defend their game but they didn't know that LaDs just demonstrated the even worse way of forced equality because what suffers for TOT is forced equal from themes and pacing only but LaDs is forced to be equal from more than just themes and pacing. 

QC kiss LaDs MC's back hand while the rest of the men kisses her lips? UNFAIR! Someone else has a bit longer short than the rest of the LI having shorter short? UNFAIR! One guy has more open chest shirt than other LI? UNFAIR! Only one man has a kiss scene with LaDs MC in one specific event than the rest of the LIs? UNFAIR! One LI has 1 more accessory than the rest? UNFAIR!

I don't even encounter this much complaint from Themis fans over "unfair" treatment of Themis men. I see more complaints from Vyn's 3rd Anniversary over forced equality because it ends up conflicting one of his core romantic dynamic that the game has to make him adjust for the theme.

But LaDs? If one LI is slightly different, idol mentality players are gonna scream favoritism

"But Tears of Themis is known for forced equality" is NOT a gotcha moment knowing the big difference
