I don't think there's a standard for the amount of crying someone should do, haha, sometimes people don't cry about anything and sometimes people cry all the time, whether it's out of happiness or sadness. So long as it doesn't impair your life, then I don't think it matters how often or little you cry. From your words though, it sounds like you're suppressing yourself emotionally until it explodes, which may not be healthy if you feel like you lose control of yourself there.

I know there are a lot of issues with the MBTI, but I'm the quintessential INTJ because my percentage for every trait is over 70% and it hasn't changed for over a decade (I retake the test every few years out of curiosity). I would say I rarely cried when I was young because I valued rationality so heavily that things rarely moved me too until things got to a breaking point and then I would cry inconsolably. However, as I got older, I made a decision to nurture my empathetic side and allow myself to cry whenever I felt the slightest urge, even if it wasn't logical. Minor inconvenience? Cry. Heartwarming movie trailer? Cry. Heck, I remember tearing up during Man of Steel when all the massive property destruction was happening because I kept thinking about how much work it took to build those buildings and now they're all gone in a second LMAO.

As a result of this indiscriminate crying though, I like to think I'm more balanced. I no longer think crying is anything embarrassing and I'm not scared of people not listening to me or thinking I'm being emotional if I cry, because I can actually do things regularly even while tearing up HAHA I don't feel out of control when I'm emotional. On the contrary, if someone dismisses me because I'm being "emotional" then they weren't worth my time.

Anyway, is this what people should do? I don't know LOL. There's research about how emotional crying expels stress hormones and toxins from your body, and produces endorphins, so it's not a bad idea to let your body regulate itself like that. Ultimately, I think what's most important is that you feel in control of yourself, physically and emotionally. Who knows, after confronting your emotions more, maybe you still won't cry easily but you also won't have big meltdowns months later.

idk personally it takes a lot to move me but it usually gets bottled up and let out in a big meltdown months later.
