Yup, at this point I'm pretty sure 2 hours is the average runtime of a card story in Light and Night these days LOL which is why my backlog has only been growing instead of decreasing despite all my efforts in truncating my live threads so that I'm reading more and tweeting less. It's not my reading speed, it's the writers packing in so much good content! For a single card, I believe the record is still Sariel's Shadows of Ambition which was nearly 3 hours, if I remember correctly.

I was surprised to hear that Tears of Themis is experiencing writing tax too but I looked up both of Marius' birthday cards (on global and CN) and they show as 1 hour long. Could the 2 hour one you saw be including CN and JP voices? It's like how Love and Deepspace uploads are deceptive because they show as 40 minutes, but then you look inside and it's ALL the languages, so the actual content is more like 15 minutes LOL (understandable because of how time-consuming animations take to produce, but laughable when their fans claim it has amazing writing when it's just all show).

I know a long length isn't necessarily indicative of good writing (I'm looking at you Tears of Themis), but it's easy to trust Light and Night because of all their previous examples and because they continue to write what they need to write to tell a story despite illiterate fans getting angry at the "unfair" treatment since, in this round, Charlie has the shortest card length.

I just saw some of new card event in bilibili and when I looked at runtime of sariel card it's 2.28 hrs (if i remember correctly) wth it's the same as movies runtime but I like it when the card is long so I can go grab popcorn and enjoy it all the way! (In ToT new marius card in global server is also 2 hrs except Lads story card it's super short i hate that lol)
