Please know that I am absolutely cheering you on for wanting to experience things for yourself because translations of any kind will inevitably lack some of the nuance in the original language.

I found HelloChinese to be a pretty good app, both in the way their lessons are set up and the amount you learn. It's been over 5 years since I last checked them out, so I don't know how they are now though. However, at the end of their courses, I think you'll be at the level where you can read basic web novels (like modern school settings) and, when you combine that with a popup dictionary, it just becomes a memorization and association challenge at that point.

Hi Ili! I was wondering if you could recommend me a trustworthy site or app or maybe something else I can use to learn Chinese accurately on the go? I want to start playing LN and Btw on my own, I've read a lot of fantranslations including yours and Lily's but I really really would like to experience it for myself. Mainly LN, ever since its release I was hoping for a localization so I could play but after so many years I doubt they'll ever give us one 🥺 and now that BtW caught my eye too I have twice the motivation haha

I've looked up resources on my own but I'm not sure how accurate they are so can you please direct me to some? 🙏🏻
