"Stole art from other games" was an accusation about Beyond the World's gothic setting in their announcement PV because Gu Shiye looked a lot like Jin Qi from 风起长安：驭骨人. I'm not too convinced by this, because there are only so many ways for a human figure to pose and look like a vampire LMAO. But, well, to each their own and where they draw the line. If it really bothers people though, this world hasn't come out yet and Beyond the World could change their direction and completely avoid any kind of similarity now."Used AI art" was because Beyond the World had janky art right at release, but in my eyes their art has too much intention to be AI and all the mistakes I saw could be attributed to human error. If you compare their current art to their release art, they've improved a lot now that they have steady revenue! Unlike another game that got caught stealing a fan translation of a BL manhua 6 months after release COUGHS. Also, Beyond the World has addressed these allegations. Again, to each their own and whether or not they want to accept this."Stole BGM" was something I had to look up, because I hadn't heard this one. These allegations seem to come from people who thought the music sounded similar, but music experts weighed in and their judgment is that songs just sound like that when you're trying to invoke a certain emotion LOL."Used AI to write" was another one I heard soon after release, but I have -100 faith in people's reading comprehension and this is something I can weigh in on with my own expertise. The writing in Beyond the World is too tight with their callbacks and parallels for it to be written by AI. The end."Plagiarized writing" was an accusation I saw about Beyond the World's summer horror event, but I looked at the line comparisons and it was pretty weak. Like, when you're writing a horror game in a school, you're going to end up using that school setting to the max, including rules and things.

That's about the extent of my knowledge on the controversies Beyond the World has been through, haha. When I list it all out like this, I feel kind of bad for the game, but fortunately (?) it's flourished despite all this... PROVING THAT GOOD WRITING CAN BE RECOGNIZED SUBCONSCIOUSLY BY PEOPLE—I mean, proving that there are still intelligent people out there who can recognize a good product when it's good LOL.

Read an old comment under an otome revenue post praying for Beyond the World's revenue to drop. Was confused, and then someone else adds some conext saying it's because they use AI art, steal art from other games and steal bgm? Any context here? Did it really happen or is this a misunderstanding/something being blown out of proportion? Thanks in advance if you answer.
