I'm quite sure that you know about the discourse plaguing around. At first, it's only about the problems in LADS regarding the tagging + possibility of adding male mc (which is impossible btw) but since tourists also saw it and now jumping into the discussion and now the discourse is all about otome games + needs for inclusivity for everyone to play it. AGAIN. for the 299383848282299283th time. 

LIKE??? everyone is like a broken record repeating again and again about the simple definition of 'otome' and it's very fucking simple i can't believe ppl can't digest the meaning of it??? 

AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY "ADDING MALE MC IN AN OTOME GAME WOULDN'T CHANGE THE GENRE OR AFFECT HOW YOU PLAY?????" are they hearing themselves???? 😭😭😭 oh my god these people are so fucking dumb and illiterate. i don't know anymore, it's just really sad to see people who have no knowledge about cn otome or otome games in general joining the discussion and bash the genre i love and where i felt safe. saw someone generalizing all cn otome as "homophobic" "terf" or whatever terms they think of. 

That fandom still keep continuing the drama. I'm convinced the people obsessed with purity are so confident in being vile in LaDs space because there's no men that will tell them it's all fiction and bite back compared to how women fight against people being too obsessed with purity. They still see them as easy targets

The "scam" ones are funny tho because they say they felt scammed about XYZ's newest card when the scam only applies when they only use EN voice and have never interacted with ALL social media spaces. Other than that, they are not scammed all along and have ignored warnings from people for over 2 years and suddenly they get mad when the majority are ones who doesn't like censorship all along. They're the ones scamming themselves by ignoring the warnings, it is their fault for not prioritizing their safety because they want something from XYZ but doesn't accept him fully

I'm sort of at a loss for words. I read it the day you replied and still didn't have any words. I teared up honestly. I keep going back and rereading it. I really needed that. So yeah, thank you for the amount of kindness and compassion your reply exuded. I still feel the same way, for the most part, but one day at a time. Okay I have a mixed bag of emotions. Like on one hand, I'm extremely excited that my favorite game of all time is getting localised which means there's demand for it/maybe more people will like it which means MAYBE I'LL BE SEEING MORE LN MERCH IN LOCAL CONVENTIONS/ANIME SHOPS!!! (I am choosing to ignore potential fandom nonsense). 

On the other hand, I kind of really really dislike the casting/direction/voices oh my god. Listening to it made me physically recoil. Nothing personal against the VAs ofc, I tend to not enjoy eng dubs when I already know what a character sounds like to me so I'm already biased against it (I do play lads and the eng dub also makes me die inside, but I ignore it too bc to each their own yea? Me not liking it doesn't mean it's bad etc.) but 💀 osborn started out okay (in the sense that the voice didn't make me cringe, haven't really thought too much about if it fits him) before I got blasted by Evan 💀 被创到了 like what in the young adult trying to act like an alpha daddy??? This is NOT him. Then Jesse and Charlie which was like I guess could be worse but I really struggle with trying to differentiate all the eng voices (tbf that is likely a me problem + very short lines but still) and Sariel oh god. What have they done. 被创到了x2 because WHO??? WHO IS THIS. Those lines using that tone??? I'm dead. They've killed me with cringe. Stay behind me kitten sounding headass, I can see the tumblr gif of the guy whipping the bed already. I can't take it seriously sorry holy shit hahahahaha also seeing like one/two comments about how he's monotone like ??? I actually think the voice is a bit too emotional.

Also I definitely have 0 trust in the translation based on past experiences, and also don't hold out much hope for its longevity. I know the game doesn't even exist yet so it's overly pessimistic but tl quality + this game really needs you to read and hold space for opposing ideas/grey morals etc so yeah.

Will I play it the day it comes out? Absolutely. Do I have faith in it? No. Do I still hope that the game is well-made and succeeds, despite my own misgivings? Yeah! We'll see!

It really shows its age. With all due respect to it being the predecessor to cn otome gachas, it is so hard to get into as a new player. The amount of rarities, the gacha system (and maybe this is too early, but compared to l&n/lbc/tot/lads, it feels harder(?) to get pull currency), the UI that bombards you with a million things at once, the small (but passionate) community. Despite all that, it is a very charming game. I kind of wish it was released today instead. Also, actually, one of my main 'wtf' moments is finding out apparently global version does not have chinese vo?? but why?? like can they not just port it over from the cn ver? ://

WHY ENG DUB WHEN YOU'RE ONLY RELEASING TO SEA??? The burden to upkeep that many languages...I. Like not even getting into how it's almost unanimously shat upon, but the costs?? Just release it globally atp. And here I thought KR was a lowkey shitshow.

The previous EN/GLB L&N account was maybe run by IF too? Both were vague teasing before the official SEA account made their accouncement (glb "coming soon" in bio, IF talking about another CN game being loc'd soon), cannot separate official from fan content (glb using the SEA logo asset early and linking the loc company's email on their fb but claiming to be just a fan account, IF doing the inverse as a preexisting multifandom account but posting bios with the TH and VN names of characters that weren't in SEA PV or account yet but that they know of already from allegedly assisting in the TH tl QC), deleting things when criticized for misrepresenting characters/game despite claiming to be a longtime fan who should know better... IDK maybe they really wanted to be the official socmed manager for the clout but didn't get a role beyond QCing. IF seems to want to be more involved than they need to be with them even making excuses about SEA twt account taking the PV down based on audience feedback when actually the platform suspended them. Even if it were true, IF doesn't have to be the one to say it because the other SEA accounts are still up and they can make a statement there. Also reminds me of when they asked for feedback on localizing character names which I feel like should be something the team addresses way earlier than QC stage since the names are going to come up a lot and it'd be a hassle to go back and change it later when they probably have a lot of TLs stockpiled ahead to ensure steady flow of new content...

Not trying to be a hater and they might mean well (like maybe the bad profile descriptions such as "trust fund kid" and "tutor" were due to English not being their native tongue and therefore missing the nuances) but as an "insider" unfortunately all this just makes the professionalism of them and the company that chose to reach out to them questionable, which in turn negatively affects the server's chance of success.

You've talked about your depression in the past (really sorry if you don't wanna get into this/my trauma-dumping(?)) and I've felt rather aimless since I was in middle school. Like, I was the kid who couldn't imagine me as an adult, I kind of figured that I wouldn't reach adulthood, not even out of any external influences but I just couldn't imagine myself in the future. Nothing really interests me as a career. If I could, I would spend all day in my bedroom reading and sleeping. Sometimes the drama and toxicity gets overwhelming when I’m lurking on the CN fandom side, so I’m wondering how you (assuming you do lol) personally avoid it? Blocking everywhere like on X or something else? Feels like my algorithm is even more sensitive over there

We fr need some boundaries because are u srs. and then when asked they deflect and say that they don't know what otome means. hc them as bi/pan or wtv idc, but this pmo so badly. the mc is literally a girl. there is no girl/boy mc choice. part of the storyline revolves around you being a girl and what that means and how that affects your life (which would differ from a male mc, or somebody gf/nb). men playing otome games and then loudly stomping on the community asking about male mc and mls being gay pmo. if you self-insert, whatever. just don't insult the intended audience.

I recently started playing LN. I'm still in the early stages of the game and very interested to Sariel so far. I really like immortals or long-lived creatures and foxes. And as far as I know, Sariel's character is quite culturally related.  May I know whether Sariel's character will be closely related to Chinese culture and require a more deeper or  complex understanding? I always position myself as a reader from a third person perspective and like the complex and layered backgrounds of characters' pasts. hello again ili, i hope you don't mind me keeping the conversation going on that LN LIs rec that somehow turns into a discussion of LIs? LMAOO not rare animal sighting😭 i burst out laughing in the middle of my work hours because of you. but i kind of agree in a way, the way you worded things and the way your brain thinks never failed to amaze me HAHAH. anyway, my curiosity is very deeply piqued reading your thoughts on sxh being the outlier with yx and lc. to be honest, he is my first li before i know of yx and lc. to note, i am a lnd player and i do hope i don't give you the ick(?) with how bad ladstwt reputation is by behaving like a plague in otome fandom spaces (i grow increasingly embarassed being associated with them day by day as i hate and never participated in the drama since i'm only here to discuss stories and drool over the lis hahah). moving on, the reason why sxh pulls me in is because i just love quiet, calm, patient, gentle, and soft-spoken men that can ground me when i'm in the verge of breaking because i'm quite a short-tempered, fast-paced, impatient, and perfectionist. i realized that i needed their calmness to influence me in a way that can slow myself down and just enjoy the little things in everyday life. also with those traits, maturity consequently becomes one of their traits that i really appreciate as i wouldn't mind them taking the lead sometimes. moving on to yx and lc, i was actually first and foremost a yx main. the first time he appears in the main story, i was immediately intrigued by him with the patience and calmness he gives off to the surroundings. then, i came to know of his layers and depth through the "questionable" actions he did that are almost cruel in a way, which comes from a very complicated back story of his. what finally seals the deal for me is him being some kind of the same "being" as the heroine which supports my love for the equal partners trope (which i also believe sxh has going on with his heroine. some surface level observation of mine being both having the same profession as hunters, their continuous depiction of being back to back in combat, and also them being symbolized as binary stars). with lc, i came to main him after reading the first world main story. he started as a soft spot that gradually turns into being one of my mains which came from seeing his actions in the main story, whether the common route one, his personal route, or the other lis routes. in every route, he is always very selfless and caring, also borderline self-sacrificial if that counts hahah. what attracts me to him is the kindness of his heart, his compassion, and his strong determination. i'm sorry for the sudden long explanations of my reasons on why i love them😭 i hope that can give you a clearer understanding of my mains combination! now back to evan hahah. what do you mean by the crazy amount of mental activity he has? is this about the depressed state he is in? also, qc and evan mains having beef with each other? wow i just came to know this, as what i knew was the charlie and qc mains beef because of qc mains accusing charlie of copying him (a simple google search would have been obvious who "copied" who with one being released way earlier). your description of charlie does remind me so much of lx with the dorkiness hahah. i think charlie will occupy my soft spot like lx did, they are like a breath of fresh air. i can't wait to read that hot air balloon and sleeping on the ground scenes hahah. hmm regarding osborn, the way you describe him somehow reminds me so much of sxh? what i mean by that are these lines specifically: "someone who can survive anywhere and come out "untouched" in the sense that he has strong principles and will never go against them...He paradoxically understands the greyness of the world and respects everyone's freedom of choice but he has a very black and white view for himself...and yet he still chooses the light every time and has reconciled things with himself and with the world". the parallels i'm seeing with sxh are his strong principles to not wanting to sacrifice anyone (not just the heroine) for the sake of his planet (or galaxy) even if that means it has to die, with him constantly growing weaker as the days go by. and then there is the matter with the backtrackers. as their captain, after their unexpected false landing on earth, he respects whatever choices his subordinates choose, even if they decided to leave him and their initial mission, leaving him as the only one actively carrying the mission on his own. OH and one of sxh cores are also associated with freedom in regards of the restrictions put on him during his crown prince day that leads to him being much more carefree in the current timeline. look at those word vomits... i hope you don't grow tired of reading these. i love having these types of discussions and reading your thoughtful responses. i do hope one day we can discuss more freely in dm instead heheh. thank you for the response ili!

I started playing recently, trying out the different servers, and I’m a bit confused on how reruns work in LN lol. I dont think I’ve seen solo event cards get reruns, birthdays (??) are a mystery because I’m not sure if I started too late or if there was never a rerun for Charlie’s (or QSL’s) 1st birthday on TW server. I have seen some 4SSRs get reruns (1? 2 year maybe?), and I think I’ve heard anniversary cards get reruns. Oh, wheels gets reruns too (also takes a long time?). Would really appreciate some clarification lol, tysm!! 💛🫶
