It's a study for the ages—haha, just kidding. I honestly think it's the unfortunate combination of a million things that happen to be there at the same time: the size of the community (especially the huge influx of "tourists"); the "enshittification" of all communities because people care more about vibes, participation, and clout over the actual media; Papergames' entertainment industry management (those leaks about how they deliberately provoke wars between communities, internally and externally); and the way Love and Producer and Love and Deepspace are designed (encouraging people to focus only on their man and ignoring the rest).

If I had to make a guess about the particular animosity between Qin Che and Xia Yizhou fans, then I think it's largely "tourists" versus "otakus" LOL. This is an extremely broad stroke but generally it seems like QC fans do not frequent otome media, while XYZ fans seem more familiar with otome media (gunning for that incest trope). Yes, I know XYZ fans are tearing each other apart over pseudo-incest still to this day, but the same can be said about QC fans and fighting over him being a gentle boy or a mafia boss. These can cancel each other out, haha.

So, these two communities already have a built-in "us versus them" mentality, and then the "specialness" of QC being added later and victimized now has "competition" because XYZ has been added later and is victimized too. It probably doesn't help that some people feel XYZ is more "legitimate" because he was already introduced at the beginning and so there were people waiting for him.

There are very, very, very stupid fights between male lead communities in other CN otome games too, but you're right in that they never seem to escape containment nor are they given legitimacy or attention by other fans in that CN otome game community unlike the way Love and Deepspace's community wars seem to escalate LOL. I think this just goes back to Papergames though and how they're accused of nurturing their communities to have no restraint or etiquette (doxxing, falsifying information and spreading it, creating deepfakes, and etc).

Anyway, this is my shot in the dark about their beef. Maybe the truth is that all the people in these two communities are reincarnations of two rival bee colonies that murdered each other and so they have an innate dislike for each other in their present life.

otome gachas have this much fracture between the male lead fandoms. I guess maybe the original 4 from LP and LX. Actually, I guess it just originates from the whole adding new LIs, but even so it just seems so excessive. Although tbf there's also QC and the og3, and people with xyz in general b/c of his tropes. From my experience, it's not really a thing in the other 4 from the big 6 games, or at least it's not a glaring issue. Or maybe the simplest answer is the size of the fandom and the accompanying noise.
