hello! i’m aware that xmx isn’t your go-to in terms of tropes and whatnot, but could I ask (especially with your non bias) what you can appreciate about his character arc from your time playing?

I don't think the datura is meant to represent sin or heroism, the context of that scene was a dream and datura is know to cause vivid hallucinations so I think that's why they used the flower to hint even further that Miss Hunter was hallucinating/dreaming of spending time with QC in their separation. Arguably you could could say that's a very superficial connection, and I'd agree to some extent, but I wouldn't say it was on the level of  "lacking coherency". I do wish sometimes the writing would have more depth, I wouldn't mind the writers extrapolating on his connection to datura, but when considering the sci-fi aspects I appreciate them not going too deep. As someone who was never into Star Wars or any other space sci-fi stuff, mostly because any science that isnt health science related is very difficult to wrap my head around, this game is more easy to digest for me. I can, however, understand being turned off by the difference in writing quality.

I'll definitely check out more info about Evan, that connection to datura sounds really unique! The writers sound really talented and your love for them really shines through the way you praise them.

hi!! i’m dropping in because i have something to ask about BTW since i’m very new to the game. sorry if this question is really stupid but if the men we meet in the other world are supposed to be “characters”, then in the “back to reality”/mc’s real world, who are those men😭😭😭 like is that the “real” ones? and the “characters” are their avatars or something 

somehow, even in my twenties I get acne outbreaks right before my monthly week of hell starts. i curse men for their blessings.

I'm being a little vague (but also probably rather obvious lol). So there's this popular team that's blown up recently. They've also garnered a vocal portion of asshole fans that are bigots, although the team itself wants no part of that shit. So it's become a sort of culture war type shit in which online leftists generalize fans of this (VERY popular) team as ___-ists and say childish shit like 'if you're a fan of x, I will judge you', or, 'please don't say you got into ___ because of this team/person' (even though they're objectively (like by all statistical metrics) the most attractive draw) quotes of that nature. 

It's just whatever, roll my eyes and scroll past, but somebody I followed on tumblr (the most terminally online type of people) also started getting into this scene, and started posting about how they wish the worst for x fans and basically lumping a whole fucking fanbase into rightwing bs. I'm just so disappointed. I don't know, I don't even know them on a personal level, and while we're technically on the same 'side' politically (sorry, not to open that can of worms), it's like the online leftists can't stop eating each other. I try not to idolize anybody online especially, but I just have a sinking feeling from these dogshit interactions, esp with the political landscape in reality these days.

Hello ili! I recently found out about a game called 欢迎来到梦乐园 and I was wondering if you knew anything about it/tried it out/know anyone who plays it.

excuse me for just rambling in your inbox like this but okay here's my lore. before starting this game, i was very convinced sariel would be my fave just based on looks/vibes. then when i started the game, EVAN!!! unexpectedly clutched my heart and it was love at first sight for me because hello sir, this gentleness? this deep, soothing voice? and then reading his chapter cards actually broke me and got me obsessed with this game because they're so, so well-written. meanwhile, i wasn't actually a fan of sariel when i actually met him (HAHA) but he grew on me really fast and i ended up falling in love too. so it was all going well, two faves isn't bad, right... until xiao laoban broke through my territory all of a sudden after months and now i'm thinking, yeah, this is an otome game, and osborn is THE man that has my heart genuinely fluttering 😭 which is so funny because in the beginning i was like, "yeah he isn't my type..." oh, i was so, so wrong. anyway, my loyalty is completely torn between 3 men help. 

I just saw some of new card event in bilibili and when I looked at runtime of sariel card it's 2.28 hrs (if i remember correctly) wth it's the same as movies runtime but I like it when the card is long so I can go grab popcorn and enjoy it all the way! (In ToT new marius card in global server is also 2 hrs except Lads story card it's super short i hate that lol)

I’m glad there’s a backlash against husbando wanters in otome spaces because they hate otome games and female mcs but will shamelessly use otome game sales to justify why their favorite gacha game should have more male characters. God forbid there’s mc romance and pandering though! They just want to ship these characters.

I’m happy the spaces for fujos/yumes are separated. They can call it homophobic but tbh otome players wouldn’t want the LIs shipped wi the other female characters either! Ships to me, are for side characters and if they can’t respect that, no one’s forcing them to play otome games. If they can’t stand to play as a female mc, no one’s forcing them to play otome games. They don’t have to come to our spaces and call us names while using otoge for their agenda against kuro/hoyo.

I find watching the fights that happen in THAT fandom so interesting sometimes. Lately its become a battle of Who Knows C-fandom Culture Better and its people unironically using google MTL to spread their own personal agenda or cherrypicked comments. 

Sometimes I wonder if you’d be able to keep these people in line if you were in that fandom 😹

wasn't strong enough to do the ones for past characters, so i hope i have more chances in the future lol

I started playing recently, trying out the different servers, and I’m a bit confused on how reruns work in LN lol. I dont think I’ve seen solo event cards get reruns, birthdays (??) are a mystery because I’m not sure if I started too late or if there was never a rerun for Charlie’s (or QSL’s) 1st birthday on TW server. I have seen some 4SSRs get reruns (1? 2 year maybe?), and I think I’ve heard anniversary cards get reruns. Oh, wheels gets reruns too (also takes a long time?). Would really appreciate some clarification lol, tysm!! 💛🫶
